New concept brings ice cream and bagels in Allston 

 ALLSTON, MA (April 3, 2025) –King Street Properties welcomes Park Bagelry to Allston Labworks.  The café/bakery is a new concept by Tiny Engine Collective, a company known for creating community-centered spaces in the Boston area, including popular eateries Diesel, Bloc and Forge Baking Co. & Ice Cream.  Park Bagelry will open this summer at 280 Western Avenue, joining a growing lineup of curated retail experiences to showcase the neighborhood’s unique character.

Using local ingredients and freshly making everything in house under the creative direction of Chef Jennifer Park, Park Bagelry will serve delicious ice cream, bagels, coffee and more. “My partners and I are excited to bring our shared love of great food to this amazing neighborhood in Allston. We are thrilled to unveil our unique new bagel recipe by fusing elements of a sourdough, New York and Montreal style bagel in hopes it becomes the Allston/Boston style Bagel!,” said Jennifer Park, Park Bagelry.

The talent behind Tiny Engine Collective– Court Verhaalen, Jennifer Park, and Tucker Lewis–came together with a shared vision for their coffee shops, each bringing a unique strength to the team, together building a thriving, employee-centered business that embodies their passion for food, art and community.

Court, Jennifer, and Tucker have been shaping Diesel, Bloc, and Forge cafes in Somerville for decades.

Jennifer is the culinary visionary behind Diesel, Bloc, and Forge, dedicated to leadership development, innovation, and long-term business growth. A lover of food and community, Jennifer balances her work with volunteering and expanding her culinary expertise.

Tucker is the creative force and detail-oriented artist behind the unique aesthetic of Diesel, Bloc, and Forge’s spaces. A lifelong Cambridge resident, Tucker blends her love of art, carpentry, and community engagement with her role as a small business owner.

Court is a dynamic leader, trainer, and operations expert who rose from barista to CEO, fueled by a deep love for community-focused cafes. A lifelong coach and outdoor enthusiast, Court thrives on bringing people together– whether in the workplace, on the ultimate frisbee field, or in the woods.

With 20,000 square feet of ground-floor retail spread across three buildings in Allston Labworks, the project prioritizes local businesses like Park Bagelry, creating a welcoming and active streetscape.  ALW is a dynamic 4+ acre mixed-use campus along the emerging Western Ave corridor, thoughtfully designed to enhance and contribute to the vibrant Allston neighborhood. Featuring 535,000 square feet of state-of-the-art life science space, 35 residential apartments, and dedicated studio and gallery areas, the development fosters innovation, creativity, and community gathering.  Additionally, 1.1 acres of public open space—including an ‘Artists Way’—invite residents and visitors alike to gather, explore, and connect in this exciting new destination.
